Everyone talks about it, all wish for it but not many have it.
Anand told me that he enjoys his job. He leaves for the office by 8 AM and returns at 7 PM. Nothing much to do in the office except few clicks and few more keyboard strokes. He is been working here for a long time and wants to continue for many more years. Is he loving his job or he has got into a career suicidal lazy schedule. On the other hand, Harsh has been spending day and night in the office. He has earned awards, rewards and mainly his boss’s mind. He got the promotions and started getting a huge salary but was he satisfied with his job?
Money vs Happiness
Job satisfaction is always misunderstood with happiness one gets from less work, perks or pretentious colleagues. If you deeply think, people with a genuine interest in work do wonders and are mostly remembered for the work they do, at least in the fraternity.
Job satisfaction can be short term or life long. The inception of job satisfaction begins with zeal. It is a dream that does not let you sleep. Have you ever experienced a thought that runs through your mind through day and night? If you are in the same business as that thought, you are in the right place.
One does not expect anything but the realization of a dream when they spend extra hours and always it takes extra miles. Neither one expects appreciation nor capital benefits to complete this job. The repayment is just an ecstasy with a sense of achievement.

- What if you are not in profession of your interest?
That’s a very relevant question for many. Many of us have chosen education based on what pays good returns. In fact, the returns are paid for the performance and not for education. Education can just open the door to a job. Far later we understand that it does not pay well and something is missing. The first attempt would be taking a genuine interest in what we are already doing. If that does not develop interest, at least it will backup for additional certification and learning.
